Leave No Trace Training
"Leave No Trace" is a set of principles that allow people to enjoy the outdoors with minimal impact on the environment. It is becoming more relevant every year, due to the increased use of wild areas by tourists and campers. It is important for everyone working and enjoying the outdoors to understand and follow the Scottish Outdoor Access Code.
Wildwood Bushcraft is a recognised Leave No Trace trainer which means we can provide a day of training with a certificate at the end. We cover the seven principles:
Plan ahead and prepare.
Travel and camp on durable surfaces.
Dispose of waste properly.
Leave what you find.
Minimise campfire impacts (be careful with fire).
Be considerate of other visitors.
This course is suitable for anyone looking to reduce their impact on the environment but is ideal for outdoor practitioners looking to demonstrate their awareness to their clients within a recognised framework.
The day will include the following activities:
Fire lighting - managing fires to minimise impact
Talking about rubbish and different rates of decay
Discussion of camp sites and use of tracks - using durable surfaces
Walk around popular outdoor areas to assess and discuss impacts
£110 per person or
£180 for a one to one experience.
Please bring a packed lunch with you.
