We are pleased to present a unique bushcraft expedition based on a trek through the mountains of Northern Sweden and Norway. Wildwood is currently the only business guiding this route. We will travel in in the footsteps of the native Sami people along the "Gransleden trail" - a recently established hiking trail traversing the mountain Plateau and extending 67 km in length. It takes in stunning scenery, incredible cultural features from the Sami, and the fascinating history of the area during the Second World War when it was used as a refugee escape route.
During the 8 day journey we will be going through three key terrain changes: 1) Dense Scandinavian forest, 2) Mountainous Arctic Plateau, 3) Fjords. We will be learning and practicing bushcraft techniques applicable to the area along the way, as well as learning about the native Samis use of the area. We will finish with a fishing trip and a helicopter extraction from the area! Also of interest is the long day length as we will be travelling at the time of the midnight sun. All in all a unique and unforgettable experience!
Although you will be learning and practicing bushcraft on the route you will be using tents and we will have food supplies with us.
